Jennifer figge, from aspen Colorado have become the first woman to swim the Atlantic after an epic 24-day.
She had originally planned to swim to the Bahamas, but landed on a beach at an abandoned leper colony on Trinidad’s chacachacare island after being blown 1000 miles.
Aboard, she kept a prized photograph of Gertrude Ederle, the American who became the first woman to swim the English Channel in 1926.
